Additional Information regarding entering beers into competiton. For those Home Brewers entering their first time Sanctioned Home Brewing Competition there are some additional rules and policies that you need to know:
All entries need to be in 12 oz amber unmarked beer bottles, that means no labels and caps that have no markings (if caps do have markings, black them out with a magic marker)
Registration opens (February 1st). you will be required to enter your beer into the style and category that it is to me judged. The syle guide found at the BJCP web site should be used as a guide. For Example: American IPA Category 21 and Sub Category so you would enter 21A
During registration you will need to pay for each entry. There will be a link to provide payment (Visa, Matercard AMX). Each entry is $10. So 3 entries = $30 and 6 unmarked bottles 2 or each entry. You will also need to print out Bottle Tags that need to be placed on each entry. The bottle tags will be printable at the end of your successful registration.Typically rubber bands can be used to attach the bottle tag to each bottle.
Judging Score Sheets will be provided for each entry. The feedback provided in my opionion is an important feedback tool to help improve the quality of beer you are brewing. All Score Sheets (and ribbons) will be available to pick up at the Suwanee Beer Festival March 14th. For those that can not attend. Score sheets and ribbons will me maled to each Brewer to the address provided during registration.
Cheers and Good Luck
